BridgeVMS Release Update 🍂

The leaves are turning; the pumpkin spice is flowing and, right on cue, a fresh BridgeVMS release has landed.  This one's a proper autumn haul: some meaty new features, a handful of quality-of-life improvements, and a good clear-out of bugs that had been lurking in the corners.

💬 What’s new?

• Platform Access Fee Invoices: Big one first - there's a brand-new invoice type just for Platform Access Fees, complete with its own tax rule option.  Set up a dedicated invoice rule to generate a separate Platform Access Fee invoice, with the right tax treatment, and issue it straight to your suppliers.  It runs alongside the legacy "deduct from agency invoice" option, so the two can happily coexist, and it means you can still process these charges through your supply chain even where the general supply is tax-exempt.

• History logging for invoice & tax rules: Invoice rules and tax rules now come with history logging, so you've got a clear audit trail of what changed and when.  Auditors, this one's for you.
• New custom report field - net agency charge: "Net agency charge" is now a reportable field in the custom report builder, available from both the placement and timesheet sections.  Go forth and report.
• IR35 settings being editable on job: Job templates can now be set to outside IR35 while still leaving that setting editable at job level.  More flexibility, less re-templating.
• Job title on the timesheet PDF export: The timesheet export PDF now shows the job title, so there's no more guessing which job a timesheet belongs to.
• Filter candidates by agency: MSP users can now search candidates by the agency they belong to.  Head to the candidates section, apply the company filter, and narrow things down in seconds.
• New email notifications: We've added a couple of new email notifications to keep MSP users in the loop:
  
  1. Notify MSP users when an agency submits a candidate to a job
  2. Notify MSP users when a job clears approval

🐞 Fixes & Optimisations:

Our development team has been quietly tidying up behind the scenes.  Highlights for the autumn clean-out:

• Caching issues - Some areas of the system were appearing mysteriously empty, thanks to a cache reset glitch. We've fixed it and added extra logging, so we'll spot it faster next time.
• 12-hour clock timings - Some areas and notifications weren't respecting the 12-hour clock setting.  They do now.
• Candidate validation from submission - MSP users couldn't validate a candidate via job submission if they'd already been validated against another job for the same title and employer.  Sorted.
• Open jobs dashboard count - Agency users were seeing incorrect counts on the open jobs dashboard.  Fixed.
• California meal break rules - Shifts of exactly 5 hours were incorrectly flagged; only shifts over 5 hours now trigger the validation.
• Candidate swap functionality - Fixed an issue preventing users from swapping candidates on a placement.
• Additional bug fixes - Plus a batch of smaller improvements to keep everything running smoothly.
