Bridge VMS Product Updates - April 07, 2025

A fresh BridgeVMS release just dropped, and this one’s got a bit of everything. We’ve been heads-down on some major behind-the-scenes work (👀 big things coming soon), but we’ve also packed in some great usability upgrades and new features to keep your workflows smooth and your timesheets smoother.

💬 What’s new?

• Type your hours on your timesheets:  When using 1-minute intervals, you can now type the start and end time directly - no need to scroll the clock endlessly like you’re cracking a safe. The clock's still there if you prefer it, but now you've got options.
• Tailor the placement duration at booking/confirmation:  You asked, we listened. You can now edit the start and end dates during the candidate booking or confirmation flow. No more auto-pulled job dates throwing your accuracy off.
• Timesheets now in PDF format:  You can now download timesheets as PDFs, and even download them along with your invoice PDFs - nice and tidy for your records. This is available when using certain invoice rules. Need help turning it on? Get in touch with the support team who will be happy to help.
• Vocabulary Update: "Qualification" joins the party: Want to call them "certifications" instead? Go for it. You can now rename “Qualifications” across the system via global vocab settings.
• Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Codes: Manage budgets like a pro. You can now assign WBS codes to jobs, placements, and individual timesheet intervals. More control over cost allocation - less spreadsheet juggling.  Check out our helpful user guide on How to set up and use WBS Codes
• Compliance validation just got friendlier: Using the compliance validation function? You can now book and confirm candidates even if they’re missing required docs - they’ll drop into validation like usual. Bonus: you can now edit a doc’s expiry date without having to re-upload it. Just click the new "replace" icon if you still want to swap the file.
• Live updating total on timesheets: Total hours and cost now update as you go. No more end-of-entry surprises - just real-time, real-useful numbers.
• Overtime now clearer on PDF invoices: Different pay types are now split out on PDF invoices, so you can see exactly how much OT went where.
• Timesheet data loader upgrades: The loader now respects auto break rules. Didn’t enter a break? It’ll pull from the Employer’s settings. Plus, it now handles single shifts that stretch over 24 hours (yes, those do happen) without needing manual gymnastics.

🐞 Bug Fixes & Optimisations

We tidied up a few things under the hood so your experience stays smooth. Here are the highlights:

• Report schedule emails got name tags – Previously, recipients were listed like a mystery dinner party—now everyone gets properly introduced.
• Billing entity display cleaned up – When using multiple billing entities, some were playing hide-and-seek on invoices. We've convinced them to stay visible.
• Rate time matrix syncing like it should – Creating multiple categories at once used to make the rate time matrix forget what just happened. We gave it a memory boost.
• “Autofill Times” toggle stopped jumping the gun – It was turning on even when you didn’t ask for it. We've taught it to wait its turn.
• CSV export formatting: comma drama resolved – Commas in data values were breaking exports into messy columns. Now they behave, and your spreadsheets stay intact.
• Placement “extensions” renamed to “date changes” - Because not all date changes are extensions. Clarity wins! Plus, the approval process is now smoother than ever.
