Bridge VMS Product Updates - July 22, 2025

️ BridgeVMS Release: School’s Out Edition

School’s out, the ice lollies are in, and while you’re plotting your next sun-soaked getaway, we’ve been hard at work making BridgeVMS even better.

Whether you're out on break or clocking in with flip-flops, here’s a breakdown of what’s included 👇

💬 What’s new?

  • Invoice page refresh:  Invoice pages just got their own end-of-term glow up.
    • You can now sort column headers A–Z or by value.
    • When you close a page, we’ll actually remember where you were.
    • Plus, handy client invoice links now appear in supplier invoices (MSP users only). No more hunting!
  • Override job distribution: Already outsourced a job but want to skip the wait? You can now override lead times and distribute immediately to Tier 2 or 3 suppliers with just a few clicks. Instant hall pass granted. Check out our handy click through guide to find out how. How to override supplier distribution on a job/order
  • Expense type expiry dates: Expense types now have their own use-by date. Set expiry dates in the expense type settings and watch them flow cleanly through jobs, placements, and timesheets.
  • Enhanced MSP privileges: We’ve introduced some new privileges that can be added to MSP user profiles. These enable you to:
    • Submit agency candidates to jobs
    • Create candidate profiles for agencies
    • Amend notification preferences for agency users
    • Outsource a self-manage job.

Users with the edit MSP profiles privilege will be able to apply these to user profiles.

  • Expense types being added to placements:  Need to get an expense type added to a placement? Add it to the job, edit placement rates, and voilà, it shows up on the next available timesheet.
  • New columns to the job/order grid view: We’ve now added location name, city, state/region to the job/order grid view. These can be configured using the ellipsis button in the top right corner.
  • Candidate submission notes, neatly packed: We’ve had a tidy up of candidate submission notes, so each user’s comments are split out and displayed cleanly on the submission.       These are also neatly presented on the placement too, because nobody likes messy folders.
  • MSP contact us section: You can now add MSP contact details to the system so your users know where to turn if they need help. Add these via the MSP company profile. Available via the top-right silhouette icon.
  • New reporting fields: We’ve added some new reporting fields to the custom report builder. “Date invoice status changed” and “payment date” which can be found in the “invoice” section of the report builder.
  • Partial payment functionality for supplier invoices: Need to partially pay your suppliers? This is now just a click away. Because not all invoices are all-or-nothing.
  • New fields in the invoice grid view: Introducing “due date” and “Number of days past due” in the invoice grid view making it easier for you to manage your invoices.
  • Bulk exportation of PDF invoices and timesheets: Users can now multi select invoices and download by PDF & timesheets. Batch work just got summer-job efficient.

🐞 Bug Fixes & Optimisations:

Just like a bug net on a camping trip, we caught a few critters before they could bite. Here’s what we cleared up:

  • Timesheet loader & bank holidays – Some dates were getting lost in the heat, especially bank holidays. We’ve fixed this so all your national breaks are respected.
  • Compliance document preview woes – Editable PDFs and links weren’t showing properly in the document viewer. Now they are. Like magic!
  • Candidate names on shift calendar  The candidate’s full name wasn’t displaying on the shift calendar against filled shifts. Full names are now back in place. No more mystery players!
  • Timesheet status issues – Some timesheets were stuck on “pending” even after approval. We've found the root cause and unstuck them.
  • Emergency timesheet approvers not working – These weren’t showing up where they should have. Now they’re back on duty!
  • Other smaller bug fixes  The kind that don’t make headlines but keep everything running smoother.

That’s this week’s homework done. The next assignment? Something a little bigger, a little bolder, and probably deserving of gold stars. Stay tuned!

Until next time, stay cool, stay curious, and don’t forget to wear sunscreen 😎🧴
